Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace
Employers are responsible for providing safe and healthy workplace conditions and have the right systems and methods for safe activities. But employees have a vital part to play in the equation. They need the right knowledge and the right attitude which demands proper training in the basics of health and safety as well as specific training for individual tasks. Good health and safety standards rely on employers and employees working together to reduce risks.
The CIEH Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace is based on the Foundation Certificate in Health and Safety, with new and updated content - for example, sections on working at heights, transport, noise and vibration.
The qualification can be tailored to business and individual needs to make the learning experience relevant and fit for purpose.
Who needs this qualification?
This new qualification is designed to ensure that all employees are aware of their own safety and the safety of customers, contractors and the public. It is applicable in any private or public sector environment.

Equivalent to the 'foundation' level
This qualification will replace the current Foundation Certificate in Health and Safety in the Workplace

Course duration and assessment
This 6 hour course is followed by a thirty question multi-choice examination paper, which may be conducted orally. Candidates achieving twenty or more correct answers will be awarded the CIEH Level 2 Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace.
